ExtraDNS is a handy little system-tray tool that can speed up your access to the Internet. It's effortless to use and has a definite impact on the time it takes to access frequently visited Internet sites. All you have to do to gain a noticeable improvement in performance is run the program. Each time you access an Internet site, ExtraDNS sends requests to several DNS servers and caches the information locally. The next time you access the site, the request is handled by ExtraDNS, shaving up to several seconds off the time thatwould have been required to access the site. While the site is already loading, it checks its cache against the information returned by the DNS server, making sure it's up-to-date. You can edit the list of 10 DNS servers as you like and easily disable the program if needed. Excellent documentation is included.
